Canvas Art Prints or Oil Paintings? What you Need to Know.
It’s handy to know the difference between canvas art prints and oil paintings when deciding on which picture to purchase.
Firstly I need to confess something…
Disclaimer: This is a blog for our oil painting site, DirectArtAustralia.Com.Au
So you need to remember that when reading this entry I will not exaggerate or try to influence your views.
There, that’s always good to get out of the way.
Now the biggest difference between a print (it may be a canvas print, transfer, glicee or gilcee print) and an authentic oil painting is theway in which they are made.
Our oil paintings are hand painted by individual artists using real canvas and real brushes. On the other hand, prints are generally made by a machine, a bit like a printer.
We find the best artists and match them up to your particular idea. For example if you want a photo of your pet painted on canvas we will commission or best pet portrait artist to paint your artwork.
Why is the Mona Lisa so fascinating? Because it’s hand painted! If it was a canvas print then it would be worth very little and Da Vinci would have worked in a photo lab!
Real oil paintings generate a magical energy and radiate it into any room; prints are manufactured by machines and can be bland, lifeless and cold.
Our artists are professionally trained with often over 1o years experience; they are amazing artisans and people…just see some of their work around the blog and the website…you’ll be amazed.
Best of all they are so affordable! Oil painting portraits used to cost a fortune but now can be found at fantastic prices..!Please have a wander and see what you think. Decide for yourself!
