Even though everyone has heard the term ‘The long arm of the law’,  the reach of the police in Adelaide didn’t have to be very long to arrest the Australian teenager, who was nabbed breaking into the police station early Monday morning.

The police officers were busy in the back of the police station in a suburb of the southern city of Adelaide and heard the front door glass getting smashed. They found the young man, a 16-year old, in the front area of the station. He may be looking for a ‘get out of jail free’ card instead of a Christmas gift certificate or any sort of art at this point.

He certainly found out that the easiest way of getting arrested is to get caught breaking and entering at the police station. The 16 year old did about A$2,000 ($1,340) worth of damage and he was ultimately denied bail. Something like a Christmas gift certificate, that is usable at a later date, would seem to be in order for this youth, but are also good for those who are not incarcerated.

A spokesperson for the police stated that the youth didn’t give a reason for what he did, and that he may have had “a bit too much to drink.”

This young man may not be receiving any Christmas gifts this year unless his family purchases a Christmas gift certificate.
