The fuselage carries the word "ARMY" in pale capitals beside a white star-and-bar roundel. On the tail, "U.S. ARMY" sits above a number that reads 12215. A second star and bars appear on the underside of the wing.

The picture is set on a mottled, sepia-toned ground with faint blushes of rose and orange, speckles and fine scratches running diagonally across the sky. The edges look like a torn sheet with a ragged black border and a row of small punched holes along the top. The plane's tailwheel and large main wheel hang down, and the propeller is a thin dark blade at the nose.

Where it hangs

Suits a home office, a gentleman's room or a living room where aviation or military history is a theme. It pairs well with leather, timber and brass, and a black floating frame picks up the heavy border and the dark fuselage.

At a glance

Type: vintage art print on heavy-duty canvas, giclee printed in Australia

Sizes: 60 x 42cm, 85 x 60cm, 120 x 85cm

Finish: stretched on a gallery-wrap frame, ready to hang (free), or add a gold, black, silver, natural or white floating frame

Delivery: made to order, 10 to 14 days, free delivery Australia-wide

Guarantee: 30-day money-back guarantee

<details>
Is this a poster or a canvas print?

It is a canvas print.
