The woman on the left has short curled orange hair, rosy cheeks and a blue teardrop earring. The man on the right has slicked brown hair. Both wear crisp white collars drawn in loose, sketchy lines.

Below the glass a small cupid with curly blond hair stands on tiptoe, one arm stretched high to hold the stem, a bow in his other hand and arrows at his back. At the bottom, large orange capitals read "PORTO RAMOS-PINTO", with "ADRIANO RAMOS PINTO & IRMÃO Lda.-PORTO" in smaller green letters. A small red signature sits at right. The flat colour and black ground give it an early twentieth-century advertising look.

Where it hangs

Suits a dining room, kitchen or a home bar corner, and works well in a gentleman's room beside dark timber or leather.
