Five large blooms open in ruffled petals, with pale pink edging and dark purple-brown stamens at the throat. One flower is seen side-on as a long trumpet. Glossy green leaves sit beside softer golden-brown leaves, and new buds show orange at the branch tips.

Below the branch are small dissections: a flower cross-section with a pink-rimmed rim, a long curved stamen, a round cut seed capsule and a gold bud on a short stem. A tiny "Tab. XXI" sits in the top right corner. The Latin caption along the bottom reads "Rhododendron Edgeworthii, Hook. fil." in fine capitals, on a warm cream ground.

Where it hangs

Suits a bedroom, hallway or dining room where a soft, pale botanical plate is wanted.
