The nearest is huge and cropped by the edge of the frame, with silver spinning propeller discs. Each plane behind it is smaller, which gives a strong sense of depth. The planes are a flat deep maroon, with fine streaked lines trailing from the wings.

The sky fades from cream at the top to pale blue and then deep navy at the base. A navy band along the bottom carries cream capital lettering: "4TH INTERNATIONAL AVIATION MEETING ZURICH", then "23RD JULY -1ST AUGUST 1937" with the year set larger. The tall condensed letters and the streamlined shapes give it a 1930s Art Deco poster look.

Where it hangs

Suits a home office, living room or gentleman's room, where the maroon planes sit well beside navy, tan leather or timber shelving. It pairs with other vintage travel and aviation prints.
