Why landmark art
A place you have actually stood in reads differently on your wall
Travel prints work best when the view is one you recognise from standing there, not one you recognise from a poster.
Most people choose a landmark print for the memory, then hang it where the memory gets lost. A Paris rooftop view or a Venetian canal has detail in it you only see from two metres away, so it belongs in a hallway, an entry or beside a chair. Big skyline and mountain views are the opposite: they need distance to settle, which usually means the longest wall in the room.
Skylines and coastlines are wide, so measure before you commit. A panoramic print under about 120cm across a three-seater sofa looks stranded; aim for roughly two thirds of the furniture width. Keep the centre of the image near eye level, around 145cm from the floor, even if that feels low. Palette matters too: dusk cityscapes bring warm amber and deep blue into a room, while snow, cloud and whitewashed stone stay cool and sit better with grey and pale timber.
