About Tulip Quartet
Four oversized tulip heads stand in a row across a wide cream canvas. From left: a magenta bloom shot through with purple and black, a deep red tulip with crimson petal edges, a yellow and orange flower with a warm gold centre, and a second red tulip tipped with small green dots. Each head is built from broad, flat strokes laid on with a knife, so petal divisions read as dark lines rather than drawn outlines. Stems drop into clusters of green, black and orange leaf strokes near the base.
Around the flowers the background is loose and busy, with flicked slashes of pink, apricot and lime scattered like confetti against the pale ground. The painting is graphic and high-key, built for impact from across a room rather than close inspection.
The long, low shape suits a wall above a sideboard, a three-seater lounge or a bed head. The cream ground keeps it easy against white or grey walls, while the magenta and yellow lift neutral rooms. Works well in dining rooms, hallways and cafe-style kitchens with pale timber or black metal furniture. Browse more panoramic wall art, all hand-painted oil paintings.
