About Silver Daisies Panorama
Five large open flowers run in a loose diagonal band across a long, narrow canvas. Each bloom is built from broad, spade-shaped petals laid on in thick strokes of charcoal grey, slate and white, with small clustered centres dotted in darker paint. The background is a pale scraped ground of off-white and light grey, with horizontal drag marks and a warm taupe edge along the top and bottom borders. One rounded bud sits between the blooms at centre, unopened.
The flowers are painted with a palette knife, so the petals stand up off the surface and catch light along their ridges. It is a quiet, near-monochrome floral: graphic in shape, restrained in colour, and physical in texture.
The long, narrow shape suits the wall above a sofa, a bedhead, or a hallway console where height is limited. The grey, white and silver palette works with pale timber, linen upholstery and polished concrete, and sits well beside chrome or brushed-nickel lamps and mirrored side tables.
