About Mosaic of Summer Light
The canvas is filled with thousands of small rectangular strokes laid side by side like mosaic tiles. They thin out towards the top, where soft lilac, pale blue and grey washes read as an open sky, and crowd together across the lower two thirds in dense bands of brick red, teal, orange, cream, plum and deep green. A pale cream path of lighter tiles runs up through the centre, drawing the eye from the bottom edge into the middle distance where warm reds concentrate.
Each tile is a single loaded brushstroke with visible edges and small ridges of paint, so the surface catches light from across the room. The overall character is bright and busy up close, yet from a few steps back it settles into a warm, sunlit landscape of colour.
A strong choice for a white or pale grey living room wall, above a low sideboard or a neutral linen sofa. The scattered reds and teals pick up cushions, rugs and timber tones, and it works well in open-plan dining areas or a hallway that needs colour without a literal subject.
