About Sunset Over Teal Lagoon
The canvas is built from horizontal bands that read as water and sky without ever settling into a fixed scene. Pale grey and cream fill the upper third, streaked with orange strokes that flatten out like drifting cloud. Towards the middle a broad pool of deep teal opens up, its edges feathered where the blue has been dragged into the warm ground beneath. Lower down, ribbons of orange and ochre cut across more turquoise, with small flecks of white sitting on the surface like light catching moving water.
The paint is applied in thin, wet-looking sweeps with a wide brush, so colours bleed into each other rather than meet at hard edges. Its character is calm but not still: warm and cool sit side by side and keep the surface active.
Works in a bedroom above a bed head, in a hallway, or on a narrow wall in a living room where a portrait shape fits better than a wide one. Pairs with timber furniture, linen in oatmeal or white, and brass or rattan details. The teal picks up well against pale grey or off-white walls.
