About Lone Rowboat at Sunset
A wide sunset sky fills the top two thirds of the canvas, moving from pale pink and mauve cloud at the upper edge down to bands of apricot, orange and a thin line of yellow along the horizon. Beneath it the sea reads as a dark navy band, almost flat, broken only by faint horizontal flecks of light. The foreground is wet sand and shallow water, brushed in long horizontal strokes of cream, pink and pale orange that mirror the sky above.
A single white rowboat sits low and slightly left of centre on the wet sand, drawn small and simple with a dark interior and thin oar lines. Paint is applied thinly and blended in the sky, with drier, streaky strokes across the foreground that leave visible canvas texture. The mood is quiet and still, an empty stretch of shoreline after the day has ended.
Suits bedrooms, coastal holiday homes and calm living rooms where warm neutrals already dominate. The orange and pink sky lifts white or greige walls, and works with timber furniture, linen bedding and rattan.
