About A Paris Stroll
A square, deliberately out-of-focus street scene. In the left foreground a woman in a dark coat walks away from the viewer, holding a large red umbrella dotted with paler highlights where light catches the fabric. Behind her a shopfront awning carries the lettering Cafe du Marais in cream against dark timber. The centre of the frame opens onto a pale, washed-out street where the Eiffel Tower rises as a grey silhouette between tall buildings, half lost in mist.
Scattered circles of bokeh float across the buildings and gutters in gold, lilac and white, the way rain-wet lights blur through a lens. Anonymous figures reduce to dark shapes and reflected white smears on the road. The red umbrella is the only saturated colour and holds the eye against an otherwise sepia and grey palette. The character is quiet and cinematic, a single bright note in a soft, rain-lit city.
Suits a living room above a low sideboard, a bedroom over the bedhead, or a home office where a square format fits neatly between shelves. The warm browns and creams sit well with timber furniture, linen upholstery and brass lamps, and the red umbrella picks up cushions, rugs or books in the same tone.
