About Abstract Cityscape III
A square composition built from layered city towers seen against a washed cream and ochre sky. A tall spired building rises through the centre right, flanked by blocky slate-blue and grey high-rises that fade into pale scumbled haze on the left. Across the lower right, a broad white bridge arch curves up and out of frame, with a second smaller arch appearing at the bottom left corner. Thin rust-red lines and mustard patches break up the cooler greys and blues.
The surface has a scraped, weathered look, with scratched lines, dry-edged blocks of colour and translucent layers that let earlier marks show through. The mood is quiet and atmospheric rather than literal, a city remembered in outline.
Suits a lounge room, dining room or bedroom with a cool neutral palette, and works well in apartments and home offices. Pairs with grey linen sofas, pale oak or walnut furniture, black metal lighting and brushed steel. Hang as a single square over a sideboard, or beside another blue and cream abstract for balance.
