About Abstract Spirograph II
Two ribbons of fine parallel lines twist down the centre of the canvas. The upper form is drawn in charcoal and near-black, curling over like a wave crest, while the lower form repeats the same looping shape in brick red and rust, tapering off the bottom edge. A thin white outlined triangle sits behind them, its apex at the top right and point dropping to the lower centre. The background is a mottled wash of pale blue, soft grey and white, flecked with small dark speckles.
The character is quiet and mathematical: precise spirograph curves set against a loose, weathered blue surface, with the single red form giving the composition its one note of warmth.
Suits contemporary living rooms, studies and hallways with white or pale grey walls. Works above a low sideboard or desk, and pairs with black metal shelving, blue linen cushions and light timber. The vertical format fits narrow wall spaces between doorways or beside a bedhead. Browse more blue art, green art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
