The Eiffel Tower is photographed from the base looking steeply upward, so the lattice legs, the lower platform and the slim upper spire converge and lean across the square frame. The first-level balustrade cuts a strong diagonal through the lower right corner, with the decorative ironwork arch curving beneath it.
The whole image is toned in mustard yellow and sepia, with a mottled, paper-like texture and darker burnt-orange, brown edges that look like an aged print. The tower is a dark olive-brown silhouette against the pale, hazy sky, and the crisscross girders stay sharp in the lit areas. It reads as a vintage-style photograph.
