A single sailing ship sits left of centre, its bow pointing to the right and its pale cream sails catching blue and violet shadows. Two masts rise into a sky of thick orange and red strokes, and the hull is a deep navy and rust brown with a long bowsprit reaching toward the upper right.
The water below is broken into short, loose dabs of pink, magenta, turquoise and yellow, reflecting the sunset beneath the hull. Two small faint sails glow on the far left horizon. The texture is visible brushwork on canvas, so the image reads as a painting style seascape, warm overall with cool blue accents.
