A large apricot-peach rose fills most of this square image, its petals folding open in smooth, overlapping layers around a tight spiral at the centre. Soft highlights run along the petal edges and the shadows turn a deeper salmon, which gives the bloom a rounded, velvety look.
A second, smaller rose sits at the upper left with two closed buds above it. Dark green leaves and a thorny stem appear at the lower edge, with fine grasses curving across the olive and yellow-green background. The brushwork is soft and blended, in the manner of a oil-style painted illustration, and a small signature sits at the lower left.
