About Bruny Island Lighthouse
An elevated view looks across a broad grassy headland to a slim white lighthouse standing near a small white keeper's building. The headland falls away at the front of the frame into dark, fractured cliffs streaked with pale rock and topped by clumps of dense green scrub. Behind the tower the land drops to a rocky point, where white water breaks against low reefs. The sea to the left catches the low sun and turns to bright silver, while further out the water reads deep blue-grey beneath rolling hills and a wide sky of broken cloud.
The character is quiet and windswept rather than dramatic: a single small landmark holding its ground on a big stretch of coast. Fine detail in the scrub, cliff rock and cloud gives the image depth without heavy contrast.
Suits a beach house hallway, a living room with timber and linen, or a bedroom wall above the bedhead. The green scrub and silver water sit well with pale walls, jute rugs, rattan and weathered timber furniture.
