A covered wooden bridge spans a calm river in the middle distance, its dark roof and slatted sides framed by dense autumn trees. Foliage on both banks glows in orange, gold and yellow, with a few deep red patches and dark green pines scattered between them.
The water is almost perfectly still, so the bridge, the trees and the sky repeat in the lower half of the frame. A patch of blue with soft white cloud sits at the centre of the reflection, while the banks fade into warm, darker tones. It is a sharp, richly saturated photograph taken in clear light.
