Two clusters of trees lean in from the left and right edges of a square frame, their leaves built from chunky dabs of olive green, mustard yellow, burnt orange and deep red. Thin dark trunks run down beneath the foliage, and pale blue-grey gaps show between them.
Between the trees a low band of reddish scrub sits on the horizon, with a creek running across the foreground in horizontal streaks of blue, lilac, yellow and brown. The surface looks thick and scraped, like layered paint. Above, a soft blue sky carries white and cream clouds with a textured, chalky finish.
