Nine lines of cream lettering stack down the full height of this portrait print, starting with a large "Beach Rules" heading. Below it run the lines "Pitch big umbrella", "Bury toes in sand", "Throw frisbee", "Soak up sunshine", "Laugh-play-swim", "Build sandcastle", "Summer reading optional" and "Watch sunset forever". Type styles and sizes change from line to line, with some words underlined.
Behind the words, a narrow band of turquoise sea and pale sky sits across the top, with a small yellow beach umbrella tilted just under it. The rest of the background is sandy tan that darkens to slate grey-blue at the base. A worn, scratched texture covers the whole surface, giving it a faded, weathered signboard look.
