Two bright blue Adirondack chairs sit in the foreground on a lawn of yellow-green grass, their slatted backs turned towards us. Long dark blue shadows stretch across the grass in front of them. The brushwork is bold and flat, with simplified shapes and strong colour, in the style of a painting rather than a photograph.
Beyond a band of dark green shrubs, a small bay of deep blue water curves around a rust-brown rocky shore. A cluster of pastel houses in mint, ochre, purple and blue sits below a rounded green hill. The sky is a lighter blue with soft streaks of cloud, and the sea runs to a thin horizon on the right.
