A large blue crab with green-grey shell sits at the centre of a square composition, one raised claw reaching toward the top left. Its legs are washed in pale blue and cream, with small orange-red spines along the shell edge. The background is a faded blue of vertical timber boards with scratched, worn paint.
Down the left side an ochre strip holds sketched shells in tan and cream: starfish at the top and bottom, a sea urchin test, a scallop shell and a sand dollar. Distressed lettering reads Coastal across the top, with Blue Crab, Under and Ocean in softer script and capitals. The look is a layered, mixed-media style illustration.
