About Blue Crossing
The canvas is divided into a loose grid of rectangular blocks, roughly five rows deep and six across, separated by pale scored lines that sit slightly raised like grout between tiles. Each block is filled with scraped and dragged paint in teal, sea green, cobalt and chalky white, some panels almost solid, others streaked where the blade has pulled colour sideways. A band of warm grey and sand runs through the middle rows, breaking the cool palette, with small dark flecks scattered across several tiles.
Edges between blocks are uneven and occasionally overlap, so the grid reads as weathered tiling or a wall of glazed panels rather than a ruled diagram. The overall character is calm and watery, with enough surface texture to catch side light.
The long horizontal shape suits a wall above a three-seater sofa, a bedhead, or a hallway run. The teal and sea-green blocks work with white or pale grey walls, oak and rattan furniture, and coastal or bathroom-adjacent spaces. Pair it with linen upholstery, brass lamps and a plain rug rather than other patterns. Browse more panoramic wall art, blue art, all hand-painted oil paintings.
