A timber fishing platform stands on tall, crossed wooden legs over flat, glassy water. The deck runs in from the left edge with a white railing, and a small cabin sits on top. The cabin is the only colour in the image, a soft blue against the grey tones around it. A square lift net hangs from its arms on the right.
The long exposure has smoothed the sea into a pale, mist-like surface and stretched the dark clouds into soft streaks. One bright patch of sky glows above the hut. The stilts reflect in long vertical lines below, and a lone pole stands in the water on the right. The horizon sits low and the format is square. It is a black and white photograph with selective colour.
