A narrow band of burnt orange sits just above the middle of this tall abstract, glowing brightest at a small gold point near the centre. Above it, soft horizontal streaks of cream, white and pale grey fill the sky, blended so smoothly that no cloud shapes appear, only layered bands of light.
Below the horizon the sea is built from stacked bands of sage green, grey-teal and deeper blue that darken toward the bottom edge. A pale sliver of light lies on the water below the horizon, and faint vertical drips and a low wavy line add quiet texture. The finish is soft, flat and calm, with a painterly look.
