Four dark sea stacks stand in a calm, deep blue ocean at dusk. A tall, pointed spire sits left of centre beside a smaller stack, a broad blocky stack stands right of centre, and a small rounded rock sits near the right edge. All are almost black silhouettes with little surface detail.
Long exposure turns the surf into a pale blue mist that pools around the bases of the rocks. A large jagged boulder fills the foreground, with rounded dark stones scattered along the bottom right. The horizon is level, and a thin band of lilac and soft pink cloud lies over the blue water. This is a photograph.
