This landscape photograph looks across successive mountain ridges as the last light fades. The nearest slopes in the foreground are almost black, with faint traces of pine forest along their edges. Behind them the ridges step back one after another, each a lighter shade of blue as mist settles into the valleys between.
Above the haze, a flat band of pink and red sits along the horizon, rising into deep orange and then yellow at the top of the frame. A thin streak of purple cloud runs across the upper sky. The cool blues below and the warm sunset above give the image a calm, quiet mood with soft, smooth tonal gradients.
