About Bright Bouquet II
A tall bunch of garden flowers fills the centre of this square composition, arranged in a faceted enamel jug with a curved handle on the left. Spires of cornflower and deeper blue delphinium rise through the middle, flanked by clusters of pink cosmos and sweet pea in magenta, coral and pale rose. Small white daisies and lilac bells spill down towards the jug's rim, with a few thin green stems and seed heads reaching out at the top edge.
The background is a flat wash of pale putty and cream with faint vertical lines suggesting a board wall, and a soft grey shadow falls to the right of the jug. The jug itself is rendered in cool white with blue-grey shading down its panels. The whole scene has a light, airy feel: soft edges, thinned colour and a relaxed cottage-garden charm rather than precise botanical detail.
