About Brooklyn Bridge New York
The view looks up at one of the Brooklyn Bridge's stone towers, its twin gothic arches filling the centre of the portrait frame. The masonry is washed in ochre, mustard yellow and rust orange, with patches of violet and deep pink bleeding down the left pier and a burst of red at the lower right. Suspension cables fan out from the top of the tower in thin diagonal lines, some coloured lime green, magenta, blue and gold, crossing a mottled pale grey sky that reads like weathered paper.
Below the arches, a small lamp post and the faint grey outlines of Lower Manhattan towers sit at the base of the image. The effect is a photograph pulled apart into colour: structural and graphic, but loose and inky at the edges.
Suited to a hallway, home office or a bedroom feature wall where its vertical shape can run tall. The grey sky keeps it easy against white or pale walls, while the ochre and magenta pick up warm timber furniture, tan leather and brass lamps.
