About Silver City Skyline
A wide panoramic canvas built from soft silver-grey washes over a heavily worked, plastered-looking ground. Blocks and columns suggest buildings: a tall ladder-like tower of pale horizontal rungs rises near the centre, flanked by rectangles filled with bronze and burnt brown drag marks. Along the left, a dark horizontal band carries a row of gold-lit panels that read as lit shopfronts or windows. Below, a curved grey sweep works as ground or water, scratched with fine white lines and flecked with small paint spatter.
The mood is quiet and metallic rather than busy, a city reduced to light, block shapes and texture.
The long horizontal shape suits a wall above a sofa, a sideboard or a bedhead, and works well in a hallway or above a console in an entry. Silver-grey and bronze sit easily with charcoal upholstery, pale timber, concrete-look floors and brushed nickel or black metal fittings.
