About Colourful Horse
A single horse's head faces forward, filling the centre of a plain white canvas. The head and neck are painted in washy blacks and greys, with a broad white blaze running from between the eyes down the nose and pale highlights along the muzzle and nostrils. The mane and forelock are the loudest part of the picture: long flicked strands of lime green, crimson, orange, magenta and purple stream outwards on both sides, with thicker blocks of red and green massed between the ears.
The background is left bare, so the colour reads as pure line and spatter against white. Small flecks of paint sit away from the mane like thrown droplets. It is a bold, graphic portrait with a quiet, dark face at its centre and all the energy pushed into the flying colour around it.
Works well in a teenager's bedroom, a playroom or a home office where a white or pale grey wall lets the colour do the talking. It suits black-framed furniture, white shelving and a plain rug, and sits happily near equestrian photographs or other bright pop art pieces. Browse more animal art, pop art, multi-coloured art.
