Two figures stand side by side on a narrow strip of sand, seen as dark silhouettes against calm, glassy water. Their reflections stretch down into the shallows below them. The pair sit near the centre of the frame, small against the wide horizon, which gives the scene a quiet, still feel.
Long bands of cloud fill the upper half of the sky in deep orange, red and plum, with brighter amber streaks near the horizon. The sea picks up the same pink and coral tones. On the right a clump of dark reeds sits on the curve of the sandbar, and a strip of dark wet sand runs along the bottom edge. It is a photograph with soft, smooth water.
