A narrow water channel runs straight down the centre of a walled courtyard garden, leading the eye to a carved, cream-coloured facade with a row of arches and a terracotta tile roof. Tall dark cypress trees rise on both sides, their trunks and foliage in deep greens and olive. Warm light falls across the stonework.
Flowers fill both banks in loose, dabbed brushwork. Pink and white blooms cluster on the right beside spiky agave-like leaves, and white blossoms spill over a lattice on the left. Terracotta pots line the water's edge. The reflections in the channel pick up gold, green and rose, and the oil-style texture stays visible throughout.
