A single large cream and apricot bloom fills the upper right of the frame, its layered petals drawn with loose, looping charcoal lines that sit over soft washes of yellow, peach and pale pink. Deep crimson marks at the centre of the flower give the only strong dark note in the head.
The flower sits in a clear glass vase, with a green leaf and a thin stem running down to the base. A dark ribbon or tie hangs on the right. Behind it, a mottled blue field on the left gives way to ochre, turquoise flecks and scratchy dry brushwork across the lower edge. The look is a mixed-media sketch with a drawn, layered finish.
