A single open lily with cream-white petals fills the centre of a square composition. Each petal is streaked with pink-red towards the throat, where six slender red stamens rise from the middle. The outer petals curl back softly, and the flower faces slightly to the left on a curved green stem.
The background is split in two. The left side is a plain warm beige, while a narrower panel on the right carries a pale cream damask pattern of scrolling leaves and curls on tan. Two broad olive-green leaves sweep up from the bottom edge, one on either side of the stem. The soft shading and muted palette give it an old-fashioned decorative feel.
