A tight close-up photograph of a single cream rose, shot from slightly above so the spiral of the centre sits just right of middle. The innermost petals curl into a small, tight bud, and the outer petals open around it in smooth, overlapping layers.
The focus is sharpest on the central petals and softens toward the edges, which blurs the outer petals into pale folds. Light is gentle and even, shading from warm peach-cream in the hollows to near white on the rims. Fine veins show on the front petal. The background is a plain pale grey.
