A row of dark trunks stands beneath thick red and orange canopies that fill the top two thirds of the image. The foliage is built from soft, dabbed texture, with small flecks of gold and yellow scattered through the upper branches like drifting leaves or sparks of light.
Behind the trunks the background turns to hazy blue, teal and pale green, with round, blurred light spots that read like bokeh. The ground is a warm band of mustard, amber and rust. The look is a layered, textured painterly scene, with the cool glade making the red canopy glow.
