Shot from high above, this square photograph looks down on a busy New York intersection. A dense crowd of pedestrians fills the crosswalk at the lower left and centre, their dark coats packed tightly together as they cross the white painted stripes toward the far corner.
Yellow taxis wait at the edges of the crossing, one at the bottom, others lined up on the right and top. A white tour bus and a red double-decker marked "NEW YORK" sit at the upper right. Low sun throws long shadows across the grey asphalt, with deep shade at the left and warm light on the cabs.
