About The Decadent and Refined
A dark green-black wine bottle with a burgundy capsule stands at the centre, its pale cream label catching streaks of light. In front and to the left sits a large balloon glass half full of deep red wine, the bowl reflecting rust and gold highlights. A smaller stemmed glass holding a pale amber liquid sits to the right. All three rest on a light saucer or tray along a dark timber bar that runs across the lower edge of the composition.
The background is built from broad, sweeping strokes of burnt orange, ochre and deep red, broken by two horizontal ledges that suggest panelling behind the bar. The mood is warm and low-lit, the kind of scene you would see in a wine bar late in the evening.
