A long-exposure photograph taken at dusk from low down on a pebble beach. Smooth, rounded grey and charcoal stones fill the bottom third of the frame, a few tinged with rust brown, and each one is sharp and glossy where the water has just run over it.
Beyond the stones the surf is blurred into soft, milky streaks that drift toward the shore. The horizon glows orange and deep red under bands of dark purple-grey cloud stretching across the sky. Small dark islands sit on the far horizon to the right, and the cool blue-grey water contrasts with the warm sky.
