A wide paddock of ripe wheat fills the lower two thirds of this photograph. The heads are sharp and heavy, bent in different directions so the crop looks woven, and they glow deep amber and rust where the low light catches them. The field runs flat to a straight, distant horizon.
Above it the sky takes over with a thick band of cloud in crimson, scarlet and burnt orange. A bright yellow break sits at the horizon where the sun is setting, and a low row of dark trees on the left forms the only solid shape. Dark maroon cloud at the top frames the glow.
