About Empire State Wall Art Print
A portrait-format pop art treatment of the Manhattan skyline, reduced to two colours: a flat, saturated yellow and a bright cyan blue. The Empire State Building stands just right of centre, its setback tiers and antenna spire rising into an empty yellow upper half. Below, dense blocks of office towers, water tanks, rooftop plant and apartment facades crowd the lower two thirds, their windows reading as fine blue dots and dashes against yellow walls.
The image has the look of a high-contrast photographic screenprint, where mid-tones have dropped out and only light and shadow remain. Detail is sharpest in the foreground rooftops and softens into flatter shapes towards the horizon line. Its character is graphic and confident, a recognisable city view turned into a bold two-colour poster.
Strong in a home office, teen bedroom or a living room with white or pale grey walls, where the yellow reads as an accent rather than competing. Pairs with black metal furniture, plywood desks, denim and mustard cushions. Works well beside other graphic or pop art prints in a hallway run, or alone above a sideboard. The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
Great painting. Brightens up my living room.
