About Feline
A long-bodied cat sits side-on in the centre, its ochre and tan body curving into a heavy haunch and two straight front legs. The head is a wide black crescent with a dark red mask across the muzzle and two narrow yellow eyes, with fine white whiskers fanning out against a thickly textured cream band behind. Ringed bands mark the neck and chest, and a striped black-and-gold tail loops along the lower left past two flat yellow daisy heads.
Top and bottom edges are built from checkerboard bands of red, orange and gold, with green blocks filling the mid-ground on both sides. The paint is laid on thickly, so the cream backdrop and checks carry a rough, plastered grain. The character is playful and graphic rather than realistic, closer to a decorative folk panel than a portrait of a real cat.
Suits a child's bedroom, playroom or a bright kitchen or hallway where the red and orange checks can pick up warm timber, terracotta tiles or rust cushions.
