A single fennel plant rises from the bottom edge, its stem running up the centre and splitting into two branches. Each branch ends in a flat umbel of small yellow-green flowers. Feathery grey-green leaves fan out on the left, drawn in fine detail against the pale ground.
Behind the plant sits a collage of aged printed pages in sepia and cream. You can read "Quadrant", "Empire Almanac", "The Anatomy of Man's Body" and "Total Eclipse", alongside small engraved star charts, calendar tables and diagrams. Faint looping handwriting crosses the right side, giving it a worn paper feel.
