A single slender stem rises from the bottom centre of the portrait frame and carries nine pointed leaves in a metallic gold. The leaves angle out in both directions, with one long leaf reaching to the left edge and a pair of smaller leaves tucked on the right.
The gold has a foil-like finish, with darker bronze and near-black patches at the base of some leaves and lighter, brushed streaks near the tips. Behind it the background is a pale, cloudy white with faint grey mottling and fine texture. It reads as a digital illustration with a lot of open space around the sprig.
