A single spiral shell fills the middle of a square frame, its wide opening facing left and its pointed spire reaching to the upper right. The shell is drawn in soft ivory, cream and warm grey, with fine ridges across the body and a thin dark outline. Scattered flecks of gold leaf catch along the ridges and the lip.
Behind it sits a distressed, chalky surface in pale grey with scratched and flaking patches. Gold lettering runs across it, including the word "CHÂTEAU" on the right, curling cursive script along the bottom, and a partly cropped circular postmark on the left edge. Faint ruled lines divide the background like an old ledger page or postcard.
