A single spiral shell sits left of centre, its pointed tip aiming to the upper left and its wide opening to the lower right. The ridged whorls are shaded in pale ivory and silver-grey, with flecks of gold catching along the edges. The inside of the opening is a smooth, dark charcoal grey that gives the shell its weight.
Behind it the background is a worn, scratched off-white that looks like weathered timber boards. Faded French lettering runs across it, including "Jeanne", "Gugnoir", "Coulou", "Vins" and "Médailles", with "Propriétaires du Château Dou..." along the bottom. Much of the script is picked out in gold, and part of a round postal-style stamp shows in the lower left corner.
