A narrow creek winds from the lower right toward a pale arched bridge in the upper left. The water is smoothed by a long exposure and looks silky, running between mossy rocks and low banks. Behind the arch, a second span crosses further back and the creek disappears into trees.
The colour is almost monochrome, with grey-green foliage washed in warm gold and sepia. Bright yellow-orange ferns fill the lower left corner, while dry grasses and fallen leaves cover the right bank. A thick, dark tree trunk leans across the top right, its branches hanging with small pale leaves.
